Greetings of the day guys! I hope all of you are having a great time during this festival season, And I’m also having a great time that’s why I am here to publish my new article series, i. e. Interview Experience.

Interview Experience: Nucleus Software (Role: Assistant Software Engineer)

In this series first article is my Personal Interview Experience with Nucleus Software oncampus hiring for the 2023 batch for the role of Assistant Software Engineer.

If you are going to appear for the placement drive of Nucleus Software just like me, then you should go through the detailed recruitment process to get an idea and build strategies to get placed in Nucleus Software: One of the first FinTechs born in India

Selection Process:

Following is the whole selection process with the date & time, when it came to my college (Virtual Placement Drive) –

1. Pre-Placement talk – 21 September 2022 @ 12:00 PM

2. Assessment date – 21 September 2022 @ 2:00 PM

3. Interview – 30 September 2022

In the on-campus(virtual) hiring of Nucleus Software 2023 in my college, there was a total of two rounds:

Online Assessment:

Assessment Pattern:

Cognitive Ability – 30 Questions (30 min)

Hands-on Programming – 1 question (C, C++, Java) (30 min)

Technical MCQs – 15 questions (15 min)

Total duration – 75 minutes

One should clear the cutoff marks of each section to get shortlisted for the next round. To clear the cutoff one should have good practice in

Quantitative (mainly Problems on Ages, Ratio & Proportion, and Average),

Reasoning ( mainly Non-verbal),

English (mainly RC, CR, FIB, Spotting Errors, Para jumbles)

Technical MCQs (DSA, Pseudocodes of Java, DBMS, OS, CN)

Hands-on Coding ( Languages preferred – C, C++, Java) (Python not allowed)

In my college, about 500 students appeared for Online assessment, and out of those only 65 students (including me) were shortlisted for the next round.

Interview Round:

The interview was also held virtually on MS Teams. The total time duration of my one-on-one interview was about 40 minutes. It was a combined interview round for both TR as well as HR.

I have given about 4-5 interviews but the first time I found that the interviewer also kept their webcam on.

And my interview was very interactive and the Sir who had taken my interview was very generous and supportive in nature. I would always be grateful to him. Some of the questions which were asked in my interview is-

1. Introduce Yourself

2. About your family background

3. Tell me about your projects and your achievements

4. In which language you are proficient? (I replied – Python)

5. Some questions on Python Data Structures

6. What do you know about Nucleus Software?

7. Why do you want to join Nucleus Software?

8. One Puzzle Question ( Camel & Banana Puzzle)

9. Interviewer said, I am done with your interview. Do you have any questions?

10. I asked 2-3 questions from the interviewer.

That’s all about my interview questions.

After the interviews, the final selected students out of 65 were only 31(including me).

Be confident and clear about your basic concepts to get selected.

Verdict:

Selected, I just got the offer from Nucleus Software for the role of Assistant Software Engineer.
